I was fortunate enough to have a friend gathering after four years! For our very first gathering, we would be in Bangkok. I always wanted to return to Bangkok, and this time, it was even better than the last time since one of our friends is a local. Thanks to him, we got to live in his accommodation and a driver—massive credit to Mr N.P.
Our first meal in Bangkok was the famous 50-year-old noodle soup, Wattana Panich Beef Broth. The soup is very savoury; you could argue it is better than Taiwanese beef Noodles! Thankfully, we arrived early, so the queue was short. I can recommend this place to everyone.
We rested in the afternoon and went to Icon Siam for dinner. Icon Siam is one of the best shopping malls I have been to. It has everything you can imagine. After dinner, we went to the airport to pick up more friends. Then we had dinner at Siam Paragon. If I am correct, it is one of the biggest malls in South East Asia. I love the malls in Bangkok!
We only did a little on our first day since everyone’s flight was at a different time. The weather was scorching, and I remembered preparing more water before officially starting our Bangkok trip the next day.
On Day 2, we went to the Grand Palace and the Sleeping Budha. Both places were crowded; however, I preferred the Sleeping Budha. Then, we went to have lunch at Jay Fai. The only reason we knew this place was because of Netflix. The queue was extremely long, but do not worry! We hired a queuer. Time is money, and we did not want to waste time lining up for food.
The crab omelette is expensive, around 2000 baht, but you should try it. The crab meat is soft, and the omelette does not feel oily. Please note that Jay Fai is going to retire this year, so if you want to try it, do so ASAP.
Even my local friend admitted the weather was unusually hot. This is genuinely my first time using an umbrella to block out the sun. Some people think using an umbrella is sissy, but I do not want to get sunburnt!
