Before the end of the first lockdown in London, my friends and I had decided to plan a day trip out of London. We were bored till death in our room, and we needed to do something … anything. A day trip out of London sounded wondrous, and this was the second time of me driving in Europe.

For today, we would be going to the Stonehenge (Salisbury) and Portsmouth. First, we had to get our car, and that was when we realised … we were getting older. Modern cars do not have handbrakes anymore! WHAT?!?! I was so confused at first; the rest of my friends had the same feeling.

After messing around for a while, we immediately headed off to Salisbury for lunch, and to explore the place. This is where the poison attack (Russian spy involved) happened back in 2018. I can felt that many people were staring at us, perhaps there were not many outsiders that come here? Who knows. Either way, we drove off to our first destination – the Stonehenge.

It was the second time I came the Stonehenge, but this time the weather was a lot cooler. There were very few visitors due to the Covid situation. We first entered the visitor centre to learn about the structure, and then we waited for the bus.

We were told we had to walk (due to Covid) to the Stonehenge OH.MY.GOD. If I was not mistaken, it was a 30 – 45 minute walk. I did not come all the way here to walk to see some stones. Nevertheless, we started our journey and took some quirky photos on the way.

At last, we arrived. Well, the place was dead quiet. It was only us, a few security guards, and a few tourists, and that was it. The atmosphere was a bit eerie, to be honest.

British weather for y’all

After Stonehenge, we drove to Portsmouth, the Southern tip of the UK. When I stepped out of the car, I could instantly taste the ocean in the air. The feeling reminded me of my time when I went scuba diving, and I missed it. We were just chilling and then suddenly we saw a hovercraft. Wow, this was our first time seeing one, and it was pretty neat. Sadly, most of the shops were closed due to the Covid situation, so there were not much to do.

In the end, we headed off back to London and decided to have KBBQ. It was a long and exhausting trip, but it was nice to go out after a long time, and I needed this trip to clear my mind.

See you in the next part where we travelled to somewhere even further!
