The highlight of Day 3 was the Chao Phraya cruise tour at Asiatique. It was my first-ever river cruise tour, so I was looking forward to it. The food was alright, nothing special, and of course, everyone lined up for the salmon sashimi. The Chao Phraya River lights up at night and is a sight to behold.
Day 4 was quite tiresome. In the early morning, we went to the Maeklong Railway Market. I swear almost everyone here was a tourist except the vendors. We went to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in the afternoon since it is close to our friend’s house. It is a classic tourist trap, but since this is the first time we have been to a floating market in Thailand, we decided to pay a hefty price to check the place out. Do I recommend going to a floating market? If you had never been before, sure. However, I think you could have done something far more entertaining.
For dinner, we went to Staneemeehoi Restaurant. It is far from central Bangkok, but I think it is worth your time. All the waiters are in skimpy dresses and they will dance once in a while. It was hilarious. Although the waiters were the main star of the restaurant, the food was delicious. The lobster is priced reasonably, too.
That’s all we did in Bangkok; the next post will be about our time at Koh Samui.
