After we checked out of our hotel, we went to Mount Akina again during the daytime. Since we were there during Golden Week, there have been so many tourists to Shibukawa.
I remember Miss M and I were screaming when we saw an AE86 and FD on our way up the mountain. We were living in the moment! There were many JDMs, including LanEvo, S2000, AE86 and more.
Our lunch at the mountain was interesting as it wasn’t a well-known Japanese meal outside Japan. It was fried fish with yam sauce. After lunch, we headed to Haruna Shrine for blessings. My blessing was a “small positive” paper. Oh well, I needed some positivity back then (and now, too).
The downhill was fun because a Honda NSX was in front of us the whole time. I wanted to get close, but I was afraid I would “kiss” the car, and we got to pay lots of money since it was a stock NSX.
Before heading to Hakone, we visited the Initial D cafe and a toy/car museum(?). The Initial D cafe is also a meeting point for many car enthusiasts. The toy/car museum is weird – the car section is more enjoyable.
Goodbye, Gunma; thanks for the memories. See you soon, Hakone!
