After the Bangkok trip, we were expecting a grand Christmas in Singapore. Unfortunately, the decorations didn’t awe us. The 2023 decorations were significantly better.

Although the atmosphere wasn’t as merry ( Singaporeans are rich and probably in Korea or Japan at this time), we managed to entertain ourselves. It was quite an eventful and productive trip for me. My highlight was scuba diving at SEA Aquarium after a decade.

However, the twist is that my family can see me diving around in the aquarium! I always wanted to show my mum that I could care for myself underwater. After this event, my mum will finally be able to relax. She is always worried about me in the ocean, which is understandable, but thanks to my rigorous training, I can conduct myself well.

The productive part of my trip is meeting a professor. I won’t go into it much, but it was a great meeting with her.

I don’t know what happened to us, but we decided to go to the Singapore Bird Park and Night Safari. I couldn’t believe that my mum agreed to go since she isn’t always a fan of going to the zoo. I was glad that we went because we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. My mum was excited when she saw the “Faber Castell” parrots. We finally learnt that those parrots are macaws. Thanks to the heavy rain, we didn’t finish the birdpark, but we will return.

Later, we went back to the zoo for a night safari. The night safari was quite good as well. The best part of the zoo was that we finally saw the ant-eater, pangolin and armadillo with our own eyes. Bloody hell, finally!
Why were we so keen on seeing these three animals? In primary school, one of the most confusing questions was how to differentiate between them. My mum and I took a long time to learn their differences. 百闻不如一见, we had finally seen them in real life. The ant-eaters were bigger than we thought, and the armadillo was significantly smaller than we expected. We will return since we didn’t finish the zoo.

This trip was quite lively compared to the previous Singapore trips. We could do so many activities in a relatively short time.
