Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I went back to Sipadan, again, staying at Seaventure Dive Rig, again. To be fair, it was a good discount, so I couldn’t say no.
However, this time is different compared to 2021. There were many tourists from other countries besides me, so it was always a pleasure to talk and learn from them. My single room was a lot cleaner and surprisingly large.
The food was still the same, always delicious, and I always had a second helping. It was also nice to see some familiar dive guides/instructors and some new faces as well. One of them is from my hometown!
Another major difference this time is that we can only do 2 dives at Sipadan. I was so disappointed to hear that because I was able to do 3 dives last time. Apparently, the tourism department decided to reduce the number of dives to avoid overstressing the environment. While this is commendable, the dive instructors told me that they had a lot of extra slots for Sipadan dives, and it did not make sense to reduce the number of dives.
I think this will be my last time diving in Sipadan alone. As much as I love Sipadan, I will not do another solo trip here again due to the cost. However, if someone invited me to go, I would definitely go.
